UCLA students, past and present, partner with Chicano Hollywood TV to address negative
portrayal of young mothers and struggling families with new scripted series.
LOS ANGELES, February 16th, 2024 - - BYATB Studios, a multi-media startup founded by
2023 graduate Christian Alan, announces a streaming release for this student-produced series’ final season.
Started back in the Fall of 2020, this groundbreaking series has always been about dignifying the sacrifices and circumstances of young parents through its fictional characters, Miles and Olivia. Over the course of three seasons, with varying titles An Unplanned Miracle [2020], An Unplanned Mishap [2022], and An Unplanned Melody [2023], this series has explored topics ranging from abortion to mom-shaming, and lights a candle to the all the ways society paints young motherhood as burdensome.
For producers like Christian Alan, its subject matter is personal. Growing up in a big Latino
family, teen parenthood is nothing new to Alan. He saw cousins step up in raising their new
additions. Sometimes raising their children with a partner, and sometimes not. Christian Alan
saw them struggle to make ends meet, defer their career ambitions, or imagine new ones. But through their hardship, also saw their resilience, their selflessness, and the sacrifices they made for their child. And it’s that same humanity that Alan wants viewers to find in characters like Miles and Olivia.

Hollywood TV app in celebration of International Women’ Day.
● Bruins were involved in making this final season on every level. From producing
(Christian Alan [23], Clement Decker [23]) to writing (Christian Alan [23], Emely
Otsuka [23]), directing (Alejandro Martin [23]), and starring (Kit Larson [24], Evelyn
Wan [22]).
● An Unplanned Milestone is using its LA Premiere to help families in need by collecting
baby and feminine hygiene products for Baby2baby. Patrons that attend the March 9th
Premiere Party at UCLA are encouraged to donate one of these items in exchange for
admission.
● An Unplanned Milestone’s previous seasons have been recognized by news sites such as
UCLA’s Prime, The Profile Pod, EWTN, and many more. With its creatives alone, its
talent spans from 7 different nations including Australia, China, and Brazil.

An Unplanned Milestone Synopsis:
An Unplanned Milestone follows high school sweethearts, Miles and Olivia, as they navigate the new challenges and responsibilities of being young parents. While Miles makes the ultimate sacrifice by deferring college to support their new family, Olivia moves to the big city to maintain her dreams of acting. There, Olivia learns that being a mother makes her much less desirable as an actress and that peers find accommodating her to be burdensome, including her own friends. All of this comes to a head when Olivia finally receives a leading role in a feature film- a leading role that condemns teen pregnancy, and a leading role that was highly coveted by Olivia’s friend, Lexi. Between this conflict of interest, graduation, and a family counting on her back home, Olivia must learn what it truly means to be a mother and stand up for what she believes in.

A highly-coveted movie role means soon-to-be graduate and young mother, Olivia Naraki, is one step closer to achieving her Hollywood dreams… until, Olivia learns that the role comes at the expense of putting down young mothers, like herself.

JOHNNY MURILLO (Creative Director; Chicano Hollywood TV)
JOHNNY MURILLO is a producer, minister, and trailblazer for Latin-Americans in the
entertainment industry. His business acumen and leadership has inspired not only Producer
Christian Alan, but countless other young filmmakers to make their voice heard- in front and
behind the camera.
CHRISTIAN ALAN (Producer/Writer/Director)
CHRISTIAN ALAN is a producer, business man, and a screenwriter to all four seasons of AUM. Christian’s Latin-American childhood enlightened him to the deficit there was for stories of humility, sacrifice, and forgiveness. Through his production and PR startup, BYATB Studios, Christian hopes to continue working with international and young talent to tell meaningful stories, and plans to continue his higher education after graduating from UCLA in ‘23.
EMELY ANTUNES-OTSUKA (Writer)
EMELY ANTUNES-OTSUKA is a ‘23 alumna of UCLA with a strong skill set in marketing,
public relations, and screenwriting. Early on into her time at UCLA, Emely began working with BYATB Studios. First, on a short film entitled Stimuli(e), then as an AD to earlier AUM seasons, and now as one of the writers behind An Unplanned Milestone. Emely embodies the warmth and love of her native Brazil, and applies that warmth in her work with non-profits and other spaces for equity.
EVELYN WAN (Co-Lead; ‘Lexi Naraki’)
EVELYN WAN is an industry professional with experience working in development capacities at major studios, including Prime Video. With An Unplanned Milestone, Evelyn dips a toe into acting and brings the compelling story of ‘Lexi Naraki’ to life. Impressively, ‘Lexi Naraki’ is Evelyn’s first leading role, but not her last. Evelyn has previously portrayed ‘Cassie’ in
Stimuli(e), is a graduate of UCLA, and holds degrees in Communication and Film & Classics.
CLEMENT DECKER (Supporting Actor; ‘Miles Hendrick’)
CLEMENT DECKER is a ‘23 graduate of UCLA, software engineer, and for 3 Seasons- has
portrayed the trailblazing character of ‘Miles Hendrick’ in AUM. Clement has always been
passionate about helping families with unplanned pregnancy, and with his role as ‘Miles
Hendrick’, has inspired young fathers to step-up and has redefined what paternal love looks like.
DYLAN SARTOR (Supporting Actor; ‘Kenton Duke’)
DYLAN SARTOR is an upcoming graduate of USC pursuing a degree in Acting. Originally
from New Jersey, Dylan lets his Catholic faith and fit lifestyle guide him in bringing
extraordinary characters to life. Extraordinary characters, such as the one he plays in An
Unplanned Milestone. As ‘Kenton Duke’, Dylan is a new addition to the series of AUM. This
role marks Dylan’s first outing with BYATB Studios, but certainly not his last.
CHRISTABELLE GARCIA (Associate Producer)
CHRISTABELLE GARCIA is multi-hyphenate Latina with strengths in acting, singing, and
dancing. Outside of her artistic engagements, Christabelle is a student of Cerritos College, a
model for her Guatemalan heritage, equestrian, and activist. It’s her passion for helping
struggling families that led her to Associate Produce An Unplanned Milestone, and motivates her to continue changing culture with art.
